(WKYT) – A man drowned after escaping from a vehicle he drove into a Kentucky lake.
The Kentucky State Police say they were notified of a fatal single-vehicle crash at Barren River Lake State Resort Park just after midnight on Wednesday.
Early indications are Jose Castillo, 18, of Bowling Green, drove his vehicle into the lake after coming to end of State Park Road, which is a boat ramp.
Both Castillo and the juvenile passenger escaped from the vehicle through its windows. The juvenile swam to safety, but sadly Castillo drowned.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the KSP.
