(WKYT) – A Letcher County judge has granted a change of venue motion in the trial of former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines.
Shawn “Mickey” Stines is accused of shooting and killing district judge Kevin Mullins inside his chambers at the Letcher County courthouse back in 2024.

Special Judge Christopher Cohron also ordering that Stines continue to be held without bail.
Judge Cohron did grant prosecutors’ motion to have Stines undergo an additional mental health examination.
