Former director of KSP Trooper Island indicted on theft charges

(WKYT) – A man was indicted last week in Clinton County in connection with a theft case involving the Kentucky State Police’s Trooper Island.

Jonathan Biven, 46, is charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition of more than $10,000 but less than $1 million.

Biven is a former state trooper and was the director of Trooper Island up until his retirement in September 2024, according to a statement from the KSP.

After his retirement, the KSP discovered potential misappropriation of camp funds, and the Special Investigations Branch began an investigation.

All findings were subsequently turned over to the Clinton County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
