Light the Way Memorial 5K Run & Walk Coming to Monticello in September

Spero Health is inviting the community to come together for a special day of hope, remembrance, and community during the Light the Way Memorial 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

The event will take place from 7 a.m. to noon at the Monticello-Wayne County Memorial Park in Monticello.

The Light the Way Memorial 5K is designed to honor those who have lost their lives to addiction, celebrate those in recovery, and bring the community together to support individuals and families affected by addiction.

Participants can choose to run the Memorial 5K or register a team to walk, with the message that every step brings hope.

In addition to the run and walk, the event will feature a variety of activities for the entire community, including:

  • Food trucks featuring local favorites
  • Self-care and community resources from local agencies
  • Vendor fair showcasing local businesses and organizations
  • Memorial Wall honoring those who have lost their fight with addiction and celebrating those in recovery
  • Kids Zone with games, activities and entertainment for children

Community members, families, businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate and help make a difference.

Registration is available by scanning the QR code on the event flyer. Those interested in becoming a vendor or community resource participant can contact Kimberly Posey at Kimberly.Posey@sperohealth.com.

The Light the Way Memorial 5K Run & Walk promises to be more than a race — it is a day to remember loved ones, celebrate recovery, support one another and shine a light of hope throughout the community.
