Unemployment rates rose in June for over 100 Kentucky counties

 (WKYT) – Unemployment rates for June rose in 116 counties across Kentucky compared to last year, according to information released by the Kentucky Center for Statistics on Thursday.

Woodford County has the lowest unemployment rate in the commonwealth at 4.5%, followed by Cumberland County at 4.6 %.

Fayette and Scott counties’ unemployment rates sit at 4.7 % while Clark and Franklin counties’ are at 4.9 %. Jessamine County has a 5% unemployment rate.

Martin County has the commonwealth’s highest unemployment rate at 10.6%, followed by Wolfe County at 10.4%. Jackson County’s unemployment rate is 8.5 % while Knott County’s is 7.8 percent.
