According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County mother and father has now been indicted on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for an incident occurring back in April 28th of this year. The incident occurred when their children were found with duct tape placed over their mouths in the parking lot of the Judicial Center. These indictments were returned by the Wayne County Grand Jury on July 21, 2026.
The mother Anna Bencosme was indicted for 2 counts of strangulation-1st degree ( Class C Felony), 2 counts of wanton endangerment-1st degree ( Class D Felony), and for 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a minor ( Class A Misdemeanor).
The father Gabriel Bencosme was indicted for 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a minor ( Class A Misdemeanor), and 2 counts of failing to report dependency, abuse or neglect ( Class B Misdemeanor).
Both Anna and Gabriel Bencosme were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center with each on a $10,000.00 Cash or a 2 X Property Bond.
