(WKYT) – Former Kentucky point guard Tonie Morgan has signed a player development contract with the LA Sparks, the team announced on Friday.
Morgan was selected with the 32nd pick of the third round in the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky after averaging 13.8 points, 7.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds last season for the Wildcats. Morgan was waived on May 3.
Morgan led the NCAA with 286 assists, setting a new UK single-season record.
As part of the WNBA’s new collective bargaining agreement, teams are allowed to carry up to two developmental players who have three or fewer years of service in the league. Morgan could be activated for up to 12 games this upcoming season.
