(WKYT) – The London-Laurel Rescue Squad is marking the “End of Watch” for its K9, Blackie.
According to a social media post, Blackie served for 13 years, and her tracking abilities made many reunions possible, as well as providing comfort and closure for some families during difficult times.
Blackie was certified through the Kentucky Bloodhound Association and the American Mantrailing, Police and Work Dog Association.
The K9 was more than a keen nose, she was also a cherished teammate.
“She was a loyal partner, a trusted teammate, and a cherished member of the London-Laurel Rescue Squad family. She inspired everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her and left an enduring mark on every life she touched,” the post says.
