The Monticello City Council met Thursday in special session and approved a current fiscal year budget amendment. The council tabled the vote on the next fiscal years budget until some figures could be checked for the Monticello Utility Commission. The Council gave approval to create an assistant fire chief position who would also serve as an ABC investigator for the city. Also during the meeting, it was announced that City Clerk Treasurer Chris Dykstra was no longer in the position.
