(WKYT) – Kentucky State Police say a Texas man is charged in connection to a decades-old sexual assault investigation in Hardin County.
State police say 66-year-old Alberto Campirano was arrested in Texas and now awaits extradition back to Kentucky.
Investigators say in 1990, a woman as home alone with her children when Campirano broke into her home and raped her.
DNA from a 2012 case in Texas helped state police connect Campirano to the investigation.
He faces charges of first-degree rape, sodomy and burglary.
