(WKYT) – Human remains were discovered during a search in Knott County on Monday morning.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the remains were found before 10 a.m. along the 2000 block of Big Branch Road in Amburgey.
The Knott County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased.
The remains were transported to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy and positive identification.
KSP was assisted in the search by volunteers and K-9 handlers from Indiana K-9 United.
