A Russell Springs man is facing several charges — including vehicular homicide and DUI — after a deadly crash on the Cumberland Parkway Monday afternoon.
State Police arrested 28‑year‑old Christopher Michael Austin, charging him with vehicular homicide while under the influence of a controlled substance, second‑offense DUI, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and reckless driving. He was booked into the Russell County Detention Center just before 8 p.m.
The wreck happened shortly before 2:30 in the westbound lanes near the Eli exit. At least one person was killed and another seriously hurt.
KSP Post 15 is continuing the investigation.
