Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Science Hill man after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine.
On May 28, 2026, at approximately 1:55pm, while conducting normal patrol functions, Deputy Noah Wesley observed a black Chevrolet pickup on Hwy 452 in Eubank, KY. After checking the license plate number on the vehicle, Deputy Wesley was informed the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended or non-licensed record.
Deputy Wesley performed a traffic stop on the vehicle under the suspicion the operator of the vehicle was driving without a license. The operator, Kevin McFerron, 36 years of age, Science Hill, KY, confirmed he did not have a driver’s license. According to Deputy Wesley, McFerron appeared to be very nervous throughout the stop and was requested to step out of the vehicle. Once out of the pickup, Deputy Wesley performed a Terry Frisk of McFerron for officer safety. After performing the Terry Frisk, Deputy Wesley asked McFerron if he would empty his pockets, at which time McFerron did so.
As McFerron emptied his pockets, two bags of a crystal substance were removed from his pocket. McFerron was placed under arrest at that time, and a search of the immediate area McFerron had been sitting in the vehicle was conducted where digital scales commonly known for weighing narcotics was located.
Kevin G. McFerron was arrested from the traffic stop and charged with Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator License, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Deg 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia. McFerron was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
