After setting a school record for consecutive NCAA Tournament bids by its inclusion Kentucky opens the Morgantown Regional on Friday vs. Wake Forest.
First pitch is scheduled for noon ET and will air on ESPN2.
The Cats (31-21) earned their fourth straight berth in the postseason after battling through an injury-riddled season that necessitated every ounce of their abundant resolve.
The double elimination regional will continue on Saturday and could extend until Monday.
