The Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Pulaski County man on May 19 following an investigation into allegations of domestic violence and child abuse involving a minor victim.
Tim Wood, 32, of Somerset, was arrested on charges of Strangulation 1st Degree, a Class C Felony and Criminal Abuse 1st Degree – Child 12 Years of Age or Under, a Class B Felony.
Deputy Gerald Wooldridge responded to the incident and served as the arresting officer in the case.
According to the preliminary investigation, Pulaski County 911 received a report regarding an alleged assault involving a minor victim. Dep. Wooldridge responded and the Criminal Investigations Division for the Sheriff’s Office was then contacted.
Sheriff Bobby Jones stated that information developed during the investigation indicated the minor victim had allegedly been assaulted during an incident, resulting in reported physical injury and symptoms consistent with strangulation.
Crimes Against Children Detective Jay Picard responded to the incident, and has been assigned to the investigation. Det. Picard is continuing to gather information and evidence.
Wood was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center and is still currently being held on a $75,000 cash bond.
Dep. Wooldridge and Det. Picard were assisted in the investigation by the Pulaski office of the Department for Community Based Services.
