Clinton County Sheriff Ricky Marcum reports that on May 7, 2026, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after Senior Deputy Rodney Shelton received a complaint regarding counterfeit money allegedly being passed at a business in Clinton County.
As part of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed. Present during the execution of the search warrant were Senior Deputy Brad Cross, Deputy Christian Marcum, Deputy Luke Schwenke, Deputy Adam Herald, and Constable Gilbert Daniel.
As a result of the investigation, Jack Renoir, age 70, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
KRS 516.050 — Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 1st Degree
KRS 218A.1415 — Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree — Methamphetamine
KRS 218A.1412 — Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree — Methamphetamine
KRS 218A.500 — Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
KRS 218A.1423 — Cultivation of Marijuana, Less Than 5 Plants, 1st Offense
KRS 527.040 — Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
KRS 237.040 — Criminal Possession of a Destructive Device / Booby Trap Device
KRS 432.570 — Possession or Use of a Radio Capable of Sending or Receiving Police Messages
This investigation remains active and additional charges may be pending.
