(WKYT) – A Wayne County woman has been arrested for allegedly tattooing a toddler.
According to court documents, law enforcement in Adair County were called to a child abuse complaint at a residence in Columbia on Monday.
Upon making contact with Brook McDaniel, 27, police asked if she had given the 22-month-old a tattoo on its arm. McDaniel confirmed that she had done so while tattooing her leg when the child walked up and stuck their arm up in the way of her tattoo gun.
Police reported that the child had a black tattoo dot on its right forearm with redness around the area.
Several witnesses at the scene confirmed that McDaniel gave the child a tattoo and that the child requested it.
McDaniel was arrested, taken to jail and charged with one count of 4th degree assault-child abuse.
She is currently lodged at the Adair County Regional Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
As of Wednesday, McDaniel does not have a court date.
