(WKYT) – Winchester native and 2023 Kentucky Boys’ Sweet 16 MVP Jerone Morton will transfer to UK.
Morton spent the 2025-26 season at Washington State, where he averaged 7.8 points and 2.6 assists, while shooting 44% from the field and 39% from behind the arc.
Morton began his collegiate career at Morehead State where he spent two seasons. In his second year, Morton averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.
Morton, who played for George Rogers Clark, was part of the the 2022 state championship team and the 2023 state runner-up squad. Morton led the Cardinals in scoring in four of his five seasons with GRC.
