(WKYT) – Four people were arrested after a multi-agency drug bust.
Marion Pinder, Edgar Hernandez-Duron, Jesus Rodriguez and Santiago Rodriguez were arrested as a result of the joint operation after investigators seized around 47 kilograms of cocaine worth around $2 million.
According to an affidavit from a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent, investigators conducted surveillance on Pinder’s residence, where they began tracking a Dodge Ram they saw visit and leave Pinder’s residence.
The special agent said investigators saw Pinder get into the driver’s seat of a Jeep Compass with Hernandez-Duron after placing a red cooler in the vehicle.
Members of the Kentucky State Police East Interdiction Team, along with members of the DEA and Homeland Security Investigations, attempted to stop the Jeep Compass.
Pinder and Hernandez-Duron then fled on foot, according to the affidavit.
The special agent said troopers saw a kilogram of suspected cocaine in the front passenger area of the Jeep Compass.
While investigators searched the Jeep Compass, other investigators located the Dodge Ram and asked Jesus Rodriguez and Santiago Rodriguez if they could search the vehicle.
After they gave consent to search the vehicle, the special agent said investigators located and seized 30 kilograms of cocaine.
Investigators then executed a search warrant at Pinder’s address, where they located 16 kilograms of cocaine.
According to the affidavit, the packaging of the cocaine found in Pinder’s residence was consistent with the packaging of that found in the Jeep Compass and Dodge Ram.
Pinder and Hernandez-Duron are scheduled to appear in Fayette County court at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29.
