(WKYT) – A Mt. Sterling woman has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for 2nd degree manslaughter and a myriad of other offenses, according to a social media release from the 21st District Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Last Friday, 26-year-old Lacy Ross found out her fate after being charged for her role in the overdose death of Hannah Newkirk of Montgomery County.
Ross was initially charged with drug trafficking after being found by a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy with 9.359 grams of fentanyl and 13.951 grams of methamphetamine, before it was determined that Ross sold Newkirk the drugs that led to her death via overdose.
In addition to her sentence for manslaughter, Ross will serve concurrent sentences for:
- Two counts of 1st degree drug trafficking
- 1st degree promoting contraband
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Tampering with physical evidence
Ross will serve an additional three years for a separate promoting and possession case.
