Sheriff Bobby Jones reports two Pulaski County residents are in custody following an incident on West Highway 80 on Tuesday evening.
The incident began when Deputy Grant Bryant was dispatched to a status check at the Dollar General Store on West Highway 80. The caller stated two individuals were passed out inside of a vehicle in the parking lot. Once Deputy Bryant arrived on scene, he observed a male passenger, identified as Christopher Bolin, age 42, of Somerset, and female driver identified as Andrea Derossett, age 38, of Nancy. Deputy Bryant observed Bolin and believed him to the be under the influence of intoxicating substances, due to his behavior and physical appearance.
Deputy Marcus Harrison arrived on the scene to assist. Deputy Bryant gained consent to search the vehicle, from both occupants. Upon searching the vehicle, Deputy Bryant located approximately 10.2 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 1.5 grams of Fentanyl, and a 9MM Kimber handgun.
Deputy Bryant gained consent to search the cell phones of the occupants and located text messages and other communications that were consistent with individuals trafficking in narcotics. Deputy Bryant reviewed both individual’s criminal history and discovered both had prior felony convictions for trafficking in controlled substances. Those convictions prohibit them from possessing a firearm.
Andrea Dorossett was taken into custody and charged with the following:
• Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd or Greater Offense (Over 2 grams Methamphetamine) Enhanced by the firearm
• Possession of Controlled Substances 1st Degree (Fentanyl)
• Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
Christopher Bolin was taken into custody and charged with the following:
• Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
• Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd or Greater Offense (Over 2 grams Methamphetamine) Enhanced by the firearm
• Possession of Controlled Substances 1st Degree (Fentanyl)
• Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
Deputy Bryant was assisted on the scene by Deputy Marcus Harrison. The investigation is on-going.
