Beshear says some US service members killed in Iran had Kentucky ties

. (WKYT) – UPDATE: Gov. Andy Beshear clarified the ties some of the U.S. service members killed during the military campaign in Iran had to Kentucky.

Beshear said at least four of the soldiers killed were assigned to an Iowa unit operating under the 1st Theater Sustainment Command out of Fort Knox.

“We grieve with the families of the lost and hope they know that Kentucky cares for and supports them.”

 

ORIGINAL STORY: Gov. Andy Beshear said some of the U.S. service members killed in the military campaign in Iran had ties to Kentucky.

Six U.S. service members have died in the campaign. Beshear posted to Facebook Tuesday morning asking people to pray for the families of the fallen, including those he said are based out of Kentucky.

The names of the service members have not yet been released.
