A Monticello woman was taken into custody early this morning after reportedly trying to drive away from a traffic stop.
According to Russell Springs Police, 18‑year‑old Heymmy Velasquez was charged with first‑degree fleeing or evading police, speeding 13 miles per hour over the limit, operating a vehicle without a license, and failing to use or improperly using a turn signal.
Officer Kendall Catron made the arrest, and Velasquez was booked into the Russell County Detention Center shortly before 1 a.m.
