According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a recent arrest in a undercover narcotic trafficking case has resulted in another Wayne County man being arrested on a burglary charge.
Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Nick Bertram continued his investigation into the drug trafficking case when he obtained information about an active video recording device that was activated during the arrest. Deputy Bertram received a complaint that the residence had been burglarized shortly after the arrest with items being stolen including the video recording system. During that investigation Deputy Bertram identified a suspect of the theft and was able to obtain enough information to secure a search warrant for a residence with the location of the equipment.
On January 14, 2026, at approximately 10 pm, Deputy Bertram along with Deputies Casey Lang, Brad Tucker, Allen Cash, and Zachary Bybee executed the search warrant at a residence located on Kentucky Highway 3284. The search warrant resulted in the video recording system being found in behind a washing machine and was then seized for evidence.
Deputy Bertram charged and arrested Lonnie D. Gregory of Monticello, KY. for burglary-2nd degree and tampering with physical evidence.
