At 12:19 PM Tuesday Monticello Fire Department was dispatched with Wayne County EMS and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to a farming accident on R. Barnett Road. Personnel encountered tractor overturned with the operator trapped underneath. The 71 year old was trapped for about an hour until neighbors heard his pleas for help. The tractor was lifted with airbags and the operator was extricated from underneath the machine. Fire personnel established a landing zone for PHI and the operator was airlifted from the scene.Thank you to the personnel that responded from all the agencies for working in together in making a successful rescue.
