The Wayne County Fiscal Court met Thursday for their regular monthly meeting with all magistrates and Judge Executive, Scott Gehring present.
The court heard the first reading of an ordinance that would allow street legal, all-purpose vehicles on the roadway. The KY general assembly passed provisions to allow UTV’s and side by sides on certain Kentucky roads, this ordinance would follow the state guidelines, and the vehicle would have be inspected by the sheriff’s office, licensed and insured, and operated by a licensed driver. This was the first reading only and no action was called for.
The court agreed to keep county tax rates the same as last years. 11.9 for personal property, 34.32 for watercraft, and 10.2 for vehicles.
The county will re bid a project to construct a solid waste storage building as the two bids received both came in over the $15,000 budgeted for the project.
