It took two votes, but the Monticello City Council approved the hiring of current assistant Chris Dykstra as the new City Clerk/Treasurer for Monticello. Dykstra’s pay was approved at $58,656 which is the minimum for the position on the pay scale.
The Council also gave approval of a new fiscal year budget which totals 4.2 million. The city had been operating on the past fiscal years budget since July 1st awaiting approval for the new one. The budget does include $352,000 of carry over funds from the past fiscal year.
Approval was given for the Utility Commission to move forward with the Powersburg – Wray Hill project. 1.8 Million in grant money is expected for the project which will have a total cost of 6.5 million.
The Utility Commission reported expenditures of $611,421 for the month while collecting $732,901 in revenue.
Alcohol sales for last month totaled $351,453 with taxes & fees collected totaling $17,139.
