According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, after receiving a report of a male throwing a rock at a passing vehicle has resulted in a Monticello man being arrested on drug related charges and active arrest warrants.
On March 11, 205, at approximately 6:30 am, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputy James Barnett was dispatched to South Kentucky Highway 1275 for the report. While en route, more complaints were made about the individual and that he was jumping in front of passing vehicles as well. Upon arrival and contacting the male, he could not answer simple questions without confusing speech. Deputy Barnett then placed the male under arrest. While conducting a search of the male, a plastic bag containing a crystal substance known to be methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe commonly used with illegal narcotics were found.
Deputy Barnett then charged Eric Crabtree of Monticello, KY., for public intoxication- controlled substance (excludes alcohol), possession of a controlled substance- 1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crabtree was also arrested on 4 Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to appear for a Motion Hour Hearing and failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of 3 counts of public intoxication- controlled substance (excluding alcohol) and assault- 4th degree (domestic violence).
Crabtree was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
