Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron would like to acknowledge every one of the Monticello and Wayne County First Responders, all Road Departments and utility companies’ personnel for their dedication and hard work during the recent floods. All Wayne Countians should be very proud of the service of these individuals. We are Wayne County Proud.
I would also like to recognize Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Nick Bertram. Deputy Bertram entered the extremely cold water on Sunday morning at approximately 4 am on Kentucky Highway 3284 and retrieve a lady from her car roof after being swept away in the high water. Deputy Bertram waded approximately 40 yards in waist high water and assisted the lady back to safety.
