Clinton County Man Arrested Following Criminal Mischief Complaint

A Clinton County man has been arrested after an investigation into a criminal mischief complaint.

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 11:18 am Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Joe Horne responded to Connies Corner Market on West Highway 90 for a complaint of a truck having its back window shot.  Upon Deputy Hornes’ arrival he met with the truck’s owner. The owner stated he had gone inside the store to make a purchase and when he came back out a short time later his back window had a hole in it, and he found a marble lying on the dash.  Security camera footage from the store showed a white car had pulled in behind the truck and after sitting there for a short period of time, it pulled out and drove towards Clinton County.

After a Facebook posting of the vehicle was made Kentucky State Police located the vehicle at a residence on Kentucky Highway 90 in Clinton County. Deputy Horne proceeded to that residence where we met with Kentucky State Police and Deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff Office. After interviewing a male at that residence, he consented to a search of the vehicle and the residence.  This search resulted in a sling shot and marbles which were consistent with the marble found inside the truck at Connies Corner Market.

Deputy Horne charged and arrested Joe F. Guffey of Alpha, Ky. for criminal mischief-1st degree. Guffey was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

The Wayne County Sheriff Office also arrested Orland T. Gibson of Monticello, KY. on a Pulaski County District Court Warrant of Arrest for Bond to be Applied to Child Support.

Gibson was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
