According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a 74-year-old Wayne County female has been found injured but alive after she was reported missing.
On February 6, 2025, at approximately 8 am a neighbor of the female reported to the Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center she was last seen around 2 or 3 pm the previous day and did not show up for dinner. Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joe Horne and units with the Monticello Police Department began a search of the area for the female along with the reported vehicle she drives. The 911 Center contacted Verizon and had the female’s cell phone pinged for a location. The ping showed the cell phone was in the Nancy, Ky. area. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office searched that area including the National Cemetery where the 74-year-old female’s husband was buried. Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office was unable to locate or make any contact with her. Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Horne entered the lady as missing, and a Golden Alert was issued for her.
At approximately 4:30 pm the 911 Center received a call from a female about a car parked behind her house on Spann Hill Water Tower Road here in Wayne County after her 5-year-old granddaughter noticed the vehicle sitting there. The caller also stated that she could see a female lying in a field that was caught up in a barbed wire fence.
Multiple agencies were dispatched to the scene including Deputy Jerry Coffey, personnel from the Wayne County Emergency Service, and the Wayne County Rescue Squad. After being removed from the barbed wire fence the Wayne County Emergency Service transported the 74-year-old female to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment.
The 74-year-old female’s condition is unknown at this time.
