The Monticello City Council met for their January meeting with all members present.
The Council heard departmental reports, it was noted $311,000 in alcohol sales were collected in December. The Utility Commission reported that the state had agreed to a relocation in the Murl-Powersburg project to accommodate a business.
The council agreed to table a resolution regarding the West Monticello / Carter rd. project until additional information could be added in the wording.
They heard the first reading of changes to the code enforcement and City business license ordinances.
Mayor Kenny Catron broke a tie vote in favor of taking only 20% of funding from the ABC funds to purchase new computers for police cruisers rather than 100%. The change was made to make sure the city was correct in using the ABC funds properly.
