The Wayne County Fiscal Court met Thursday for their regular December meeting.
The Court agreed to adopt a portion of three roads into the county system and advertise for an adoption one other.
A 2nd reading and approval of a 2025 budget amendment ordinance was given to account for unbudgeted receipts.
The court approved the budget and salary allotments for the WC Sheriff’s Office and County Clerk’s office.
They gave approval to purchase two vehicles from the low bidder Don Franklin for the Sheriff’s Department.
The court approved the purchasing of 16 vape detectors for the Wayne County Middle School bathrooms using opioid abatement funds.
The court approved a grant for $10,000 for training at the detention center with the county providing a 20% grant.
Also approved was a grant to help fund a portion of education for paramedics, with those participating signing a 2-year agreement to work with WC EMS upon completion of the program.
The latest fiscal year audit was approved, department reports were given, and an executive session was held with no action taken.
