WC School Board Approves the Working Budget

The Wayne County Board of Education Met at its Regular scheduled meeting on
Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Superintendent Don Neal recognized
several student and school-related achievements within the district. Football season is
off to a good start and we have homecoming this Friday night for the class of 2005. The
soccer team is having a great season as well. Extra safety measures have been added
through collaboration with local law enforcement. Attendance district-wide was around
95% on high-attendance days.
The superintendent report was read and the 2024-2025 working budget was approved.
The board approved the purchase of a new 72-passenger bus. Bell Renovation
payments were presented and approved.
The Consent Agenda was approved with several items such as a technology report, an
agreement for mental health services, and family support agencies.
