According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Nancy, KY. man has been arrested on multiple felony charges.
On August 9, 2024, at approximately 9 pm Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputies Nick Bertram and Jerry Meadows responded to Richardson Road in the Nancy community after receiving a call of a man firing multiple shots from a gun within 10 or 15 feet from several individuals including 3 children ranging in range from 1 to 3 years old and elderly grandparents. Witnesses stated they were on the lake shore at the Richardson Road Boa Ramp next to a small boat pier when the male subject drove down the boat ramp in a pickup truck. The male then walked out onto the small boat pier and started firing a pistol type gun multiple time. The witnesses stated they did not know what the males’ motives were and felt frightened, so they left in their vehicle. While leaving the boat ramp the male started following then in his pickup truck for about a mile when he turned into a driveway.
After speaking with the with the adult witnesses, Deputies Bertram and Meadows then contacted the male subject at that residence. Deputies retrieved a .380 caliber handgun from the males back pants pocket while speaking with him. The male stated he was only shooting his gun at a snake in the water.
Deputy Bertram charged and arrested Jeffery L. Todd of Nancy, KY. for 6 counts of wanting endangerment-1st degree.
Todd was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
The Wayne County Sheriff Office also arrested Billy Daniels of Monticello, KY. on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charge of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine).
Daniles was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
