The Monticello City Council will soon hear the 2nd Reading of a Restaurant Tax. 
The Tax would be levied at 3% on Restaurants’ Gross Receipts.
The funds would create a tourism committee and be used for various related projects locally.
Monticello would become the 2nd city on the Lake to enact a Restaurant Tax
The Council reported Burnside is the other city in the area and the tax is at 3% which brought around $350,000 in revenue last year.
