
A man wanted out of Pickett County Tennessee Charged with Murder has been apprehended in Wayne County. Jesse Wayne Phillips was wanted for second-degree murder stemming from a fatal shooting on May 27, 2026.

The Incident: Investigators stated that he shot 40-year-old Christopher Brad Yates in the chest on Parker Road in Pickett County (near Pall Mall) in Tennessee. The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His vehicle was found abandoned at a residence on Norman Cole Road in Albany on May 28th. Apparently, following a tip received last week by the WC Sheriffs Department Phillips was arrested in the 7700 block of KY-1546 in Wayne County, unconfirmed reports indicate he may have been staying in an abandoned chicken house or outbuilding.
- Following the arrest, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the location, resulting in the seizure of multiple firearms in furtherance of the ongoing criminal investigation. Phillips was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center where he will await extradition to Pickett County, TN.
- He was taken into custody early Thursday morning by law enforcement officials from several agencies.
