Laurel County man sentenced on federal charges for exploiting teenage victim from jail

(WKYT) – A 56-year-old Laurel County man has been sentenced to 28 years in federal prison after using the Madison County Detention Center’s call system to exploit a teenage victim.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Daniel Hoskins used the jail’s call system to contact the teenager, who he had an inappropriate relationship with, and solicited explicit images through phone calls, video calls and text messages on multiple occasions, according to court documents.

Jail officials discovered what was happening and revoked Hoskins’ access to the call system.

However, Hoskins continued to contact the victim through other inmates.

Hoskins had previously been charged with possession of a matter of sexual performance by a minor and tampering with evidence.
