(WKYT) – A Tennessee man was arrested following a crash in Frankfort that sent one woman to the hospital.
Officers responded to a crash on Old Lawrenceburg Road the night of Monday, July 6, and found that a white Dodge Ram pickup truck and black Chevy Equinox were involved.
The Chevy Equinox was “severely damaged,” according to an arrest citation, with the front bumper ripped off and the front end pushed into the engine bay.
The driver of the Chevy Equinox was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for her injuries.
Officers spoke with Timothy Geraghty at the scene, and the citation said they “quickly observed” Geraghty to be under the influence of alcohol.
According to the citation, officers observed that Geraghty had bloodshot and watery eyes, smelled of alcohol, delivered slurred speech and was unstable on his feet.
Geraghty refused field sobriety testing and a blood draw when at the hospital, the citation said. Police then obtained a search warrant for a blood draw, which was signed and executed, the citation says.
Officers on scene determined it was “most likely” that Geraghty rounded the turn from East Todd Street onto Old Lawrenceburg Road, veered from the outbound lane into the inbound lane in oncoming traffic and struck the Chevy Equinox head on.
The citation said officers also determined that Geraghty did not have his seatbelt on.
Geraghty is charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, first-degree criminal mischief, failure to wear a seat belt and first-degree wanton endangerment.
