(WKYT) – Kentucky and Gonzaga announced on Wednesday that their six-year basketball series has been discontinued.
The decision was mutually agreed upon, a release from UK stated.
Factors for ending the current series included allowing each program freedom to reevaluate future scheduling obligations, based upon conference priorities and non-conference opportunities.
The series began in 2022, with Gonzaga defeating the Wildcats in Spokane, 88-72. The Bulldogs defeated UK, 89-85 at Rupp Arena in 2024. Kentucky defeated Gonzaga the following season in Seattle, 90-89, in overtime.
