(WKYT) – A Green Alert was issued for a Boone County Vietnam veteran who authorities say is considered armed and dangerous.
William D. Singleton was last seen Monday, April 6, at his home in Burlington, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities described Singleton as a 5′11″, 220 pound white male with a bald head and unshaven face.
According to the sheriff’s office, Singleton is reportedly in possession of multiple firearms, and people are advised to not make contact with him and to immediately call 911.
Singleton has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, Parkinson’s disease and dementia, the sheriff’s office said, and is believed to be traveling in a 1989 Chevrolet RV-style vehicle with a Kentucky registration of R3E479.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said deputies identified two transactions made on Singleton’s card in the London area on Wednesday, April 8.
One was reportedly made at a barbeque restaurant, and the other at a marina.
Witnesses reported that Singleton was seen at the marina at the time of the transaction, the sheriff’s office said.
Singleton has a scheduled doctor’s appointment in Louisville Thursday, but the sheriff’s office said it is unclear whether Singleton intends to go.
Deputies also said family members reported that Singleton is known to abuse alcohol, may be suicidal and that his mental condition is deteriorating.
