According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County man has been arrested after a motor vehicle accident.
On March 28, 2026, at approximately 3:30 am, Deputy Zachary Bybee responded to the vehicle accident on East Kentucky 90 in the Frazer Community. Upon Deputy Bybee’s arrival he learned that 2 men had fled the scene and found an open alcohol container inside the vehicle. Deputy Bybee located the driver of the vehicle hiding behind a residence in that area. Deputy Bybee then administered field sobriety test to him for a check of his alcohol intoxication level. The driver passed those test.
Deputy Bybee charged and arrested Tanner J. McAfee of Monticello, KY. for leaving the scene of an accident, possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, criminal trespassing-3rd degree and criminal mischief-2nd degree.
McAfee was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
