We know it’s still early, but current weather reports are showing an increased chance of a significant snow event later this week. While forecasts will become clearer as we get closer to the weekend, this system could create difficult travel conditions and potential power outages for our community.
Emergency Management Director Bubby Corder and I, along with all first responders, state and county road crews, are already planning and preparing so we can respond quickly if the storm develops as expected. Your preparation at home makes a big difference too.
Please take a moment to preplan:
• Make sure you have essential supplies on hand
• Charge devices and gather flashlights/batteries in case of outages
• If you rely on home oxygen, ensure you have spare tanks ready
• Avoid unnecessary travel during the event if conditions worsen
