Drug Trafficking Arrest Lands One Man in Jail

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a vehicle traffic stop has resulted in a Wayne County man being arrested on multiple charges including drug trafficking.
On June 2, 2025, at approximately 10:22 am, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy James Barnett observed a vehicle making traffic violations on Lincoln Avenue and Fair Street. Deputy Barnett then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle to address the violations. Once making contact the driver stated he did not have an operator’s license due to it being suspended for a previous charge of driving under the influence. Deputy Barnett asked the driver to exit his vehicle and then asked if he had anything illegal on him. The driver stated he did, and it was methamphetamine. While searching the driver Deputy Barnett located 2 baggies of a crystal substance known to be methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe commonly used with illegal narcotics on him. A criminal records check on the driver revealed that the male had previously being convicted for drug trafficking in 2015, 2020 and again in 2022.
Deputy Barnett arrested and charged Terry Lowe of Monticello, KY. for disregarding a stop sign, failure to or improper signa, driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license, no registration plates, failure to wear a seat belt, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree-2nd or greater offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine).
The crystal substance (methamphetamine) had a total weight of 12.09 grams.
Deputy Barnett was assisted at the scene by Monticello Police Department Office Major Josh Asberry.

Misty Calhoun of Monticello, KY. was arrested on 2 Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and possession of a controlled substance-2nd degree (drug unspecified).
Sherry Savage of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for theft by unlawful taking or disposition-shoplifting.
