I would like to extend my gratitude to the 47 teams that participated in the 9th annual Jason Vanhook Memorial Bass Tournament yesterday.
Although the weather was amazing, the water conditions proved challenging, but this did not deter the fishermen from reeling in impressive catches. 
Yesterday, we paid tribute to our late friend Trooper Jason Vanhook and also honored retired Berea firefighter Doug Sandlin, who played an instrumental role in organizing and coordinating this event for several years. Doug Sandlin was an avid supporter of the Kentucky State Police and the Trooper Island Camp. Unfortunately, he passed away a couple of weeks ago due to a medical condition while engaging in his passion for fishing on the same waters where we held the tournament yesterday.
