UPDATE: Both individuals were indicted this week by a Wayne County Grand Jury on the arrest charges from the incident that occurred this past March
Amit Patel, 37, and Dishaben Patel, 28, were arrested by Monticello Police on March 19th and both were charged with Theft by Deception (over $10,000), Exploitation of an Adult and Engaging in Organized Crime. They were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
A preliminary hearing was held Monday where both entered pleas of not guilty. The case was sent to the grand jury for possible indictment, and the judge ordered bond to remain as set.
