In addition to the storms, Saturday’s system also poses a heavy rainfall threat. Conditions leading into this event are much drier than the past one, so widespread river flooding is not expected. The concern is for flash/areal flooding in places that see multiple rounds of activity, especially if thunderstorms begin to train.

A second round of severe thunderstorms is possible Saturday afternoon and evening. A Slight Risk remains in place for the whole area except portions of Wayne and McCreary County which is under an Enhanced Risk. Damaging winds, large hail and spin-up tornadoes are the primary concern with these storms.
