We share MPD’s activity report to help you have a better understanding of the number and types of calls our officers respond to daily.
This serves as a quick overview of the previous date’s calls for service. It does not include every detail related to each incident or traffic stop.
The following activity occurred from 12:01 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025.
2:05 a.m. – Foot patrol community warming center (Mt. Pleasant Fellowship Church).
5:21 a.m. – Foot patrol community warming center (Mt. Pleasant Fellowship Church).
6:10 a.m. – Business security checks, extra patrol overnight: Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant, Frye’s Outdoor Sports and New’s Monticello Funeral Home. All secure, no issues discovered.
9:53 a.m. – Report of male forcing open door to unoccupied residence on West Columbia Avenue. Officer located male. He was there for remodeling project for owner. (we recommend starting with the door).
1:06 p.m. – Request for officer in Tradeway Shopping Center. Caller reports unknowingly dropping his wallet in parking lot of Save-A-Lot. When discovered it was missing, store personnel used video footage to identify individual that picked wallet up. Officer located individual, money and items recovered. Charge forthcoming.
3:05 p.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury collision South Main Street.
3:19 p.m. – Request to speak with officer regarding personal property issue.
3:36 p.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury collision Long John Silver’s parking lot.
3:52 p.m. – Residential alarm Limestone Street.
4:41 p.m. – Attempt to serve arrest warrant at residence on North First Street. No response to knocks at door.
6:57 p.m. – Wellbeing check on male in downtown area. Transported by WCEMS.
11:39 p.m. – Traffic stop Walmart parking lot.
11:49 p.m. – Foot patrol community warming center.
