THOMPSON NAMED OFFICER OF THE YEAR
Officer Jeramy Thompson has been chosen as “2024 Officer of the Year” for the Monticello Police Department.
In making the announcement during the department’s recent Christmas dinner, Chief Joey Hoover attributed Thompson’s resiliency, professionalism and selfless service to MPD and the citizens of Monticello.
During the award presentation, it was also noted how Thompson had defied the odds in returning to full duty after having been critically injured in a traffic accident the previous year.
Officer Thompson has served with the Monticello Police Department since January 2019. In addition to patrol duties, Officer Thompson is the department’s armorer, taser instructor, and firearms instructor.
