The Monticello City Council met Monday night for their December session.
The Council heard the ABC report which showed over $14,000 in taxes were collected for the city.
The Utility Commission report noted the murl-powersburg project is in a slight delay as the transportation cabinet works to move construction approximately 50ft at the request of an adjacent business.
The council approved Police Chief, Joey Hoovers request to use $70,080 of money forfeited to the department from a past drug bust to purchase new video and audio equipment for the interview room, and thermal imaging drone, and new computers for the patrol cars.
The Council approved a request from Fire chief, Gabe Heatherly to apply for a grant to purchase new hose.
Also the Council heard a request from the fire chief to keep the assistant fire chief’s position. The position had been funded solely the past two years through ARPA funds, the city maintained they do not have the funds to begin paying for the position themselves.
